How to turn the Watch to the Compass

, , No Comments

Loss of consciousness without a compass can be a deadly mistake, and nature does not forgive the human fails and mistakes. Everything is happening quickly. Nature doesn’t ask it simply kill if you do not respond when challenges come over.  Probably you're willing to wait a whole day, you can find out the east and west in the direction of the setting sun, but without food and water, time is a luxury and you simply cant waste it.

That is why getting accurate azimuth is critical, and can do so easily with a simple analog clock and horizontal watch. Hold point so that the hour hand turned toward the sun. At the midpoint between the 12 and the hour hand is its north / south line, north back to the sun. Therefore, if the hour hand 4 indicates, for example, 2 to point to the south and 8 indicate north. Just remember, it only works in the northern hemisphere; and in the summer you have to use one instead of 12 to determine the centreline. If you are in the south, east 12 directly in the sun hemisphere and the north-south / line continue to cut directly between the 12 and the hour hand, but in the north will be the closest to the Sun.
